Why a church directory?
Our church family continues to grow! Church directories are great tools to help people to get to know and personally connect with each other to make a big church feel smaller.
What do I get?
Everyone will receive a free copy of the pictorial church directory and 8×10 family photo (your directory photo). Additional photography options will be available for purchase.
What does the church get?
We’ll receive a copy of your family photo for the directory and individual photos of each person in your family. CWC maintains a church member database, and individual photos will be saved for in-office use only.
Do I have to buy anything?
You are not obligated to purchase anything. You’ll receive a free church directory and 8×10 photo (the same photo featured in the directory). If you so choose, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional photographs.
How long is my photo session?
Allow about an hour to: check-in, be photographed, view your digital images and select your church directory pose, and purchase optional photography. The photo session itself is about 20 minutes.
What should I wear?
Here are some tips to help you get ready:
Simple hairstyles and natural makeup are best.
Avoid haircuts within 48 hours of your photo session.
Bring hair and makeup supplies for quick touch ups.
Have fun and express your true personality!
Wear what you feel great in, whether it’s casual or formal clothing.
Solid colors or simple patterns look best. Busy patterns on clothes can be distracting.
Medium to dark shades create a timeless look.
Small jewelry and accessories compliment your face. It’s best to avoid large, distracting accessory pieces.
Some poses are close up and some are full-length, so plan outfits completely, including shoes.
Long sleeves are better for adults to focus attention on the face. Short sleeves are okay for infants and children.
If you wear glasses, feel free to wear them. The photographers are trained to minimize any glare.
Choose clothing in two to four similarly toned, solid colors and have everyone dress within that color palette. Like these:
Can I have pictures of family members who do not attend CWC?
Anyone can have their photo taken whether or not they attend CWC. Feel free to invite family members to join your photography sitting.
If your family member does not want their photo in the church directory, but still wants to have a family portrait made together, schedule your photo session. Tell the photographer your situation and they will take several poses of those who want to appear in the church directory and some more of everyone together.
What if I can’t make the days of the scheduled sessions?
As soon as we have 15 additional families to photograph, Lifetouch will return to take photos of them. Then, everyone will receive an updated directory (the 15 families and everyone who received a directory previously).
What if a family member can’t attend our photo session?
If you have a family member in college, military, or is homebound, we don’t want to miss adding their photo! Simply bring a picture of them to the church receptionist, and we’ll add them to the directory. You’ll need to turn in a signed copyright release form if a professional photographer took the picture. You will also receive a free directory.
Why is each family member being photographed individually in addition to the group photo?
CWC maintains a church member database, and individual photos will be saved for in-office use only.
Can I bring my pet?
For your personal photos, feel free to bring your household pet to your session. Directory photos will feature just our church family.
Allow for up to an hour to be photographed, view your images, and purchase photographs. Consider arriving early to allow your pet(s) time to become comfortable and adapted.
Take your pet for a walk prior to the photography to expend some energy
Have your pet well groomed and bathed
Bring a toy or treats that your pet will respond to during photography
Bring a leash
We want you included in the photo with your pet, too!
